Its summit is intriguing and attractive, with a highly glaciated west face rising from the Lhotse Glacier.

The southern ridge leads to the true summit, while its southwestern extension, part of the normal route of ascent, leads to the south summit – a more technical climb involving a scramble up a rocky gully to a glacier.
Above this point, a headwall of steep snow leads to the summit ridge, which continues, in an extremely exposed position, to the summit.
The climb poses a very enjoyable challenge and offers some of the most remarkable Himalayan views in the entire Khumbu region.
