Together with Annapurna South, Hiun Chuli forms a massive south-facing wall, while its eastern face overlooks the Modi Khola, guarding the entrance to the Annapurna Sanctuary.
Though not technically difficult to climb, the mountain is vulnerable to rock-falls – and finding the route can therefore be a problem.
Hiun Chuli has received little attention from mountaineers and is rarely climbed, despite the fact that it offers major new route potentials.
