From this point there are great perspectives of the vast Ngozumpa Glacier, Cho Oyu itself with its neighbour Gyachung Kang, Mt Everest rising above a fluted ridge, Lhotse and Makalu.</p>
<p>After appreciating this amazing vista we head out westwards to the Rengo-La pass, which we cross in order to trek to Thame village. This is where Everest&#8217;s famous pioneer Sherpa Tenzing Norgay grew up.</p>
<p>There is a gomba perched on a steep hillside above the village. Thame, as much as any settlement in Khumbu, is off the tourist route, so you may even find yourself the only foreigner in town!</p>
<p><strong>Gokyo Lake and Renjo-La Pass Trekking &#8211; 12 days</strong></p>

<p>Day 01 : Arrival Kathmandu &#8211; transported to hotel &#8211; tour briefing<br />
Day 02 : Free time in Kathmandu<br />
Day 03 : Flight Kathmandu to Lukla &#8211; trek Phakding (2610 m)<br />
Day 04 : Phakding / Namche Bazaar (3446 m)<br />
Day 05 : Namche Bazaar, rest for acclimatisation<br />
Day 06 : Namche Bazaar / Dole (4200 m)<br />
Day 07 : Dole / Machchhermo (4470 m)<br />
Day 08 : Machchhermo / Gokyo (4790 m)<br />
Day 09 : Excursion to Gokyo Ri and back to Gokyo Lake trek<br />
Day 10 : Trek over Renjo-La and further down to the next side of pass<br />
Day 11 : Trek to Thame village<br />
Day 12 : Thame / Monjo<br />
Day 13 : Monjo / Lukla<br />
Day 14 : Flight Lukla to Kathmandu<br />
Day 15: Free time in Kathmandu<br />
Day 16 : Transported to airport -flight to your onward destination</p>
